The weather — Six Word Saturday —

.
My six words:
Yesterday was a nice top-down day
The fine print:
Today may be stormy
6WS question for you:
Is your weather also being strange?

.
My 1998 Ford Mustang GT Convertible now has 94,000 plus miles. It is a PRETTY BLACK color and I look fine in it. I have had it now for twelve years and 44,000 of those miles I put on. It is in excellent condition, almost like new.

Now I have found a WHITE '98 with only 61,000 plus miles in Florida (link). If it lasts like the one I have now it might be the last car I would ever need. The only thing is that I don't think I would look as good driving this white one.

One option is to paint the white '98 red or black. It will sell for around $8500. Twelve years ago I paid $16,000 for my black one with 50,000 miles showing. It belonged to a lady before I got it. The white one is also a one owner.

One other thing is that Mrs. Jim and I have never been to Key West, Florida. Mrs. Jim and I could fly down, get the car, and tour the Florida Keys before we came home.

Describe your life (or something) in a phrase using just six words for Six Word Saturday. Click the box at right to visit Cate's blog with Mr. Linky showing all the other blogs participating this week. Cate is the boss at Six Word Saturday. She would like for you to participate.

Thursday Memes -- Things in a row -- Two Questions

.
Happy Ground Hog Day!
I hope your winter ends NOW.
.

How would you like to be stuck behind this eighteen wheeler going down the road at 70 mph? (One fellow here today has his load neatly stacked in rows, the first is rather helter-skelter.)

That doesn't sound much fun. I hate to be stuck behind a logging truck because I am always afraid that one or more of those logs would drop off going way to fast.

I was behind a truck that lost a very large cast iron something that belonged on road working equipment. I dodged it and good thing because if we had hit that Mrs. Jim or I might not be here today.

Likewise I don't like to get behind farmers hauling bales of hay going down the road at 70 mph or even less either. Just because the hay is soft doesn't mean it won't cause lots of damage and possible injury.
For more things in a row please visit Pat's Things in a Row post.

And now for my Thursday Two Questions: (See Thursday Two Questions by Poetic Shutterbug for more reading. You could also make your own by checking in at this link.)

Last week I asked about men giving their wives annual performance evaluations. Most thought that wasn't necessary. One of the ladies said she and her husband have a friendly annual critique session and then figure how to work on any problem areas. That might be a good thing to do!
Youngest Grandchild, KP, likes her gelato:

This week I have been thinking of some advice I always give young people in the family after their wedding. I give the same advice after each child is born.

I say, "I don't ever want to catch (or see if now a kid or grandkid) your child being drug through the mall crying up a storm." Then I continue, "stop and give him or her some ice cream." That assumes the child is old enough to eat ice cream.
If they do that it works every time and just plain changes the mood of the child. It is like he or she forgets what the problem was in the first place.

1. Does this sound like good, workable, advice to you. Why or why not.

2. Do you do this or something similar now with your child, grandchild, niece, or nephew? If so how does it work.

............................................................Bonus question: Do you or did you ever dye your hair?

I died my hair black when Mrs. Jim and I first met and followed on after our marriage. Finally I stopped because it was such a mess. Even though I began dying it in the shower it was still trouble and took lots of my time.

Blue Good Stuff — MidWeek Blues — In a Bag or Under a Cat

.

My first blue is in this grocery bag. Last week I visited my cardiovascular doctor. He gave be a good bill of health for an estimated time of at least six months. That is the time for my next appointment, in July.

He also gave me this bag of 'sample medicines'. They will be from one month's supply to three or more months.

That saves me a lot of money because he prescribes four different medicines. One for blood pressure, a blood thinner (Plavix) to take with Aspirin, a statin combo, and another to help with keeping my triglyceride level down. In addition my GP doctor prescribes a one-a-day pill and my back doctor has me on FosoMax for my bone strength/density.

Nothing to do with these meds, but my back doctor has me doing physical therapy rehab exercises for about a month. I do them at the facility in Montgomery and also at home on the days I don't go. They are teaching me exercises and stretches to do at home that will help me strengthen my back.

The stationary bike is on the list for now about ten minutes. There is one at our clubhouse Fitness Center here in the subdivision. We used to have one but it got decrepit and we gave it away.

Next is this cat that lives with us. Well, not really the cat is blue, but rather her favorite resting and sleeping place.

Amber here is sleeping in Mrs. Jim's computer chair that has a blue cushion. She cares not for the chair but for the nice cushion.

Seems that all of our animals like laying on blue beds. Blue must be a soothing color for them. (Adi on her blue double bed

And now in case you are tired of blue, here is a really neat "Pun of the Day" especially if you like math and/or physics:

.
Sailor Dan was out in the windy cold riding his bike. Here were his thoughts of the moment:.
.
Helga is always right. Today would have been a good day to hibernate. Rather I'm out in the wind with hands off the bars looking for a sail.
