Six Word Saturday

I may be a little late
[in returning your comments]

We did get back last week but really never did get caught up. Then the bomb fell Friday when the floor people lady said we could be next. See below.

[click pictures for larger view]

I am under the gun this weekend. One the left is my setup to study my Sunday school lesson for teaching tomorrow. That has top priority. What you see is the work table in my office. And don't you like my pretty 38-year old green studio couch?

Next in priority is to finish getting the living room, Mrs. Jim's music room, and the dining room cleaned out for the floor people. They are coming Monday morning at 9:00 to pull up the old carpet in the first two rooms and the wood floor in the dining room.

We have to have everything emptied out and out of these rooms. The floor people will move the heavy stuff around. I think that will take a little over a week.

Third on my priorities is a normal life which includes some heavy blogging. I have blogging buddies left over from last week to leave comments for but I will try. If you visited my last week and I didn't return your comment, just claim No. 1 Priority and I will visit you first.

Six Word Saturday, Click the box --> to visit Cate's blog with Mr. Linky showing all the other blogs participating this week. Cate runs Six Word Saturday. She would like for you to participate.

I wish to thank everyone last week who came put up with my slowness and perhaps I didn't even get to return your comment. If you leave me one this week and say "Priority No. 1" you will be at the top of my line. Thank you.

Mrs. Jim and I left Thursday with the dogs. They got dropped off at the kid's house, Katrin with Mitch and Carmen, and Adi with Karen and Billy. We spent the night with Karen and Billy and Adi.

They took me out for my Birthday breakfast on Friday morning (30th). Then Mrs. Jim and I left Katy and headed to New Braunfels, Texas. We spent the night there. We also attended the Wurstfest Festival Friday night. I will blog about that.

Saturday found us at Waco, Texas, to watch the Nebraska-Baylor college football game. I blogged about that, see below.

We roamed the rest of Saturday and finally made it home. We did visit Anne Nichol Smith's growing up town and had a nice supper there. I will post about that too.

More Houston corner places -- MidWeek Blues -- Food and other stuff

You will have to decide if any of these places meet your needs.
If they don't try the one posted below at the acupuncture place.

[large picture] [extra large]

The yellow place with the blue top border is for eating. Looks like they do a large takeout business.

You can read the menu on the top yellow signs. Looks like the choices are tortas, lunch plates, tacos, rotissere chicken, platos, and fajitas. It looks like they are doing a good business.

Or you can go down to the Jack-in-the-Box. We mostly all know what they have. The last Jack-in-the-box cheated Mrs. Jim out of 50¢. I got my senior discount on the drink but she didn't. We didn't know that until we were back in the car.

[large picture] [extra large]

You can buy your food here. The sign says they have a deli.

[large picture] [extra large]

You can buy a lot of unexpected things at the car wash. This one offers a free window chip repair while you wait (with approved insurance).

I don't know if they have food. But this rainy day certainly isn't a car washing day. I suppose it is good for getting the windshield repaired.

Now we come to the last blue sign. It says 'Self Parking -- cash or credit card." For sure you can't buy food at a parking lot.

I am betting though, that you could get a bite to eat at this nice blue church in the background. I don't know the denomination, if it's Baptist I know their people eat up a bunch.

If you want to post a MidWeek Blues picture, go get directions from Rebecca by clicking on the logo picture on the right. She has a Mr. Linky and good directions . Just do what I did. .
Or do less. All she requires is a BLUE PICTURE, you don't have to write.

Adi Can . . . . . . . . (and do an Awww Monday) . . . . . . . . pose with Harry Husker

.

The University of Nebraska Corn Huskers did win their (American) football game this Saturday, playing against the Baylor University team. I claim Nebraska on the basis of being an alumni because I attended there for three semesters. Later, eleven years of sitting out and eleven years of night school, I finished my schooling in Texas colleges.

The picture on the left I am showing to show some of the Nebraska fans. These three sections plus another section on the other side where we were sitting and then those scattered around mixed in with the Baylor gave the Nebraska Go Big Red fans almost five full sections of the ten in the stadium.

They came down from Nebraska in droves and convoys. The average distance might be from Lincoln, Nebraska, to Waco, Texas, which would be 725 miles and about 11 hours of driving time. The roads are all Interstate Highway or equivalent.

The right picture I am showing the Baylor Marching Band who played to us at half time. Baylor has an excellent music department and a very good band. We are always impressed by Baylor. Oh, yes, I need to mention our daughter, Karen is a Baylor grad with a Bachelor of Business degree in Accounting. Of course that doesn't prejudice our thinking about Baylor's excellency one bit.

Just to show the teams right after the ball was snapped from the center to the quarter back see the picture on the left. It also shows how the Nebraska fans spread out in other sections of the stadium.

On the right is the traveling semi of the Nebraska team. It carries all the teams equipment and goodies. I have never seen this truck on the road but it looks like it should keep up with traffic quite well.
